I was born into a family of Bakers. I saw the life of sacrifices my parents made-my father worked nights and slept during the day, my mother got up very early every morning to open the store, every afternoon she had to go by the bakery to refresh the sourdough-I always thought I would never be a baker. My brother and I experienced these things as intrusions into our family life and so, as a boy, I thought this was too hard a job. What was driving my parents to work so hard? I was 27 years old when I realized that all my work experiences, while teaching me perfectly how to run a business, were responding to economic logic that did not belong to me. Most of all, I did not understand the dynamics between employer and employees: economic aspects were always more important than human resources. I needed something completely different. I went back to the things I did not understand, but which had always raised my questions. I went back to our Forno. It was a safe place; I could count on the ideal of harmony, understanding, and teamwork that my parents had continued to build. "What now?" I said to myself. For a year, two, I worked at the bakery from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. and spent the rest of the day reading. I went back to doing what I did as a child: went swimming at the river, picked a dog to go truffle hunting. I understood, by reading and being able to enjoy my time, that I wanted to restart my life and set it on new things. It is the simple things that make me happy, and being a baker, creating with water and flour the oldest food of man, is a simple thing. With the same philosophy I decided to welcome guests to Camp il Granello, with simplicity, authenticity, joy and a great desire to share passion the amazing territory of the Romagna Apennines.
