Graubünden is one of the largest mountain regions in Switzerland and offers an incomparable scenery. The majestic peaks, rushing rivers and crystal-clear lakes make the hearts of nature enthusiasts beat faster. Graubünden offers numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, mountaineering, climbing and mountain biking. Apart from a large number of mountain lakes, some of the best-known excursion destinations are the Swiss National Park with over 80 km of hiking trails, or the Rhine and Viamala Gorge. But buildings such as the Tarasp Castle or the Landwasser Viaduct are also worth a visit.

For camping, the time from June to September is ideal when nature is in full bloom and the temperatures are pleasant for many outdoor activities. Winter sports enthusiasts will profit from camping sites which are also open in winter, perfect for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoe hiking in the region.

Regional specialities

In Graubünden you should definitely try the traditional Grisons barley soup, pizzoccheri, capuns and Grisons nut cake. Bündnerfleisch, an air-dried beef, is also a regional speciality and a must for meat lovers. Many private hosts offer local products from their farm for sale. Enjoy an authentic culinary experience amidst nature.
