Five years ago, my husband and I bought 6 hectares of rural land on the southwestern tip of the European continent. Our dream: to raise a family living closer to nature. We believed that if we could grow our own vegetables and drink water from our own spring, everything else would fall into place. And so it did. We learned how to replenish the soil, generate our own electricity, plant trees, renovate and create - and listen to the land. The main pillars of our work here are the permaculture garden, a food forest project, and a reforestation initiative that aims to re-populate our land with indigenous trees, doing our part to restore the natural balance in a region. 11% of our rental income is automatically donated to our tree fund for the land. Today we share our life with our two unschooled boys, two wonderful dogs, four cute cats, a proud rooster and his six lovely hens. Over the years we have had many wonderful people come to share the warm embrace of this deeply spiritual place we call home and we are looking forward to meet you here as well
