Nestled behind our shed, our meadow offers a secluded parking spot for enchanting nights under the stars, surrounded by the tranquility of the forest and fields. This dedicated space is a 24m long and 3.2m wide grassy path. While it was once gravelled, ensuring a stable base, it's not perfectly level. On one side, an adjacent meadow, not accessible to guests, often hosts grazing cows or sheep, their gentle cowbells lulling you to sleep in true Alpine style. On the other side, you'll find a spacious 20x24m meadow. The grass is usually tall, but you might be lucky and find it mown. If you'd prefer it mown, we can arrange this for a fee of 50-100 CHF (depending on the area). Please inquire well in advance!
The access road is a gravel path at the end of the hamlet of Moorwilen, leading into the forest, so it's rarely used, ensuring peace and quiet.
From this spot, you can marvel at the most breathtaking sunsets over the plateau, stretching across meadows and fields. As the hamlet consists of only three residential units and your spot is discreetly hidden behind a shed at the end of the hamlet, you'll enjoy a high degree of privacy from prying eyes. However, being surrounded by agriculture, it's possible a tractor might greet you bright and early. Moorwilen is home to a dog and horse boarding facility, but both owners are very considerate and respectful.
Just a 10-minute bike ride away, in the forest above the parking spot, you'll discover a nature arena trail with a sensory path (the Seebachtal sensory path). The forest itself, with its countless paths and branches, also invites you for wonderful walks. But be warned, it's easy to get lost, so don't forget your phone! We speak from experience. ;) Cycling Route 923, Stage 2, also passes right by us.
Lake Constance (Untersee), with the beautiful lido in Mammern, is approximately a 10-minute drive away.
The nearest shopping opportunity is at Schlossladen in Herdern, but a visit to the farm shop at Spargelhof in Sonnenbühl, Herdern, or to Backhüsli by Rita Schürch in Lanzenneunforn is definitely worth it.
Playgrounds are available at Schulhaus Herdern or Schulhaus Lanzenneunforn. There are two barbecue areas in the forest above the parking spot on the sensory path, and one at Hochwacht with fantastic views over Lake Constance.
If you have any questions or need information about the surroundings or the spot, feel free to inquire at the house or leave a message on the answering machine. Otherwise, simply enjoy the seclusion. :)
Please understand that other areas of the farm (barns, garden behind the house) are private and not accessible to guests.
