Camp SOAY

In our little oasis in the heart of the Thal Nature Park, you'll find the perfect basecamp for excursions around Balsthal and the surrounding wilderness. Although the camp is centrally located in the village (expect some typical village sounds!), it offers plenty of space and nature. You can watch our colorful mix of farm animals (now without a rooster!) all day long—there's always something going on! It's also ideal for two small families with two tents, campers, or trailers. XXL rigs are welcome. The camp is located right at the train and bus hub; the outdoor pool, shopping, and restaurants/takeaways are all within walking distance. Balsthal is the gateway to the Jura mountains; leisure activities such as the Langenbruck climbing park, summer toboggan run, hiking in the Thal Nature Park, two mini-golf courses, an indoor pool, and bowling are all in the immediate vicinity. In our 'Buureschränkli' (farm cupboard), we offer various seasonal organic products for sale: local beer, dried meat, and honey; jam, apple cider, and eggs directly from the farm. For colder days, local Swedish torches are also available. Various dining options: an Italian-run restaurant right next door (highly recommended: pizza or fritto misto), a kiosk with fresh croissants and coffee in the morning, a gas station shop at the entrance to the village, and various shops and restaurants in the village center.
