Nature is calling you back. Tucked away in the middle of the vineyard between Mandach and Hottwil lies the Rebhüsli Hintererli – a small, original refuge in the heart of the Jurapark Aargau. There is no electricity and no running water here. Instead, there is candlelight, crackling fire, clear starry nights and above all: time. Time to switch off, breathe deeply and enjoy. The Rebhüsli is quiet and secluded. On nice days, however, you might hear the occasional motorbike or car in the distance. The nearby winding road is popular with motorcyclists and drivers – we therefore call it the "Chli Suschte Pass" road with a wink. A little slice of life in the midst of nature, which is part of the special character of this place. Kitchen, dining area and sleeping place are cosily combined in one room. The toilet is separate. Around the cottage there are many favourite spots: on the terrace, the balcony or by the fireplace. The view over the Jura hills stretches from Rotberg over Geissberg to Laubberg and Hottwil. The Flösserweg trail passes directly by the Rebhüsli – ideal for a walk through nature and the vineyards around Mandach. The Rebhüsli belongs to Maja's Chrüterstübli and the Fryberger Rösselerhof in Mandach. With great love, natural products such as herbal teas, syrup, ointments, tinctures and incense blends are created there. The Rebhüsli Hintererli is a place for anyone who consciously wants to slow down. Less comfort, more nature. Less everyday life, more time. And plenty of space to simply be.

Ich bin Lara, auf einem Bauernhof in einem kleinen Dorf aufgewachsen und heute wieder hier zu Hause. Ich liebe die Natur, singe leidenschaftlich gerne und bin gerne aktiv. Unser Rebhüsli ist für mich ein kleines Juwel, das ich gerne mit Gästen teilen und ihnen unsere schöne Region zeigen möchte.

Notes on the facilities
The Rebhüsli Hintererli is deliberately simple and rustic. There is no electricity and no running water – but plenty of nature, candlelight, and time to switch off. Fireplace in the Hüsli The fireplace is used for heating and cooking. Wood and firelighters are on the balcony. With the regulator on the chimney pipe, you can control whether the heat escapes upwards or stays in the Hüsli. Important: Use only during your presence and under constant supervision. Fire extinguishers and fire blankets are available. Garden fireplace It is suitable for cooking, grilling, and cozy get-togethers. Use is only permitted when there is no official fire ban. Since it is close to the forest edge, the fire must be supervised at all times. Grill grate, wood, and firelighters are available. Kitchen A gas stove and basic cooking utensils are available. The gas cylinder is under the sink. Please always turn off the gas after use and return used dishes clean. A spare cylinder is in the garage. Breakfast If breakfast is included in your booking, a regional breakfast awaits you. Ground coffee and a moka pot are available; instructions are in the Hüsli. Light Since there is no electricity, candles provide atmospheric light. Spare candles can be found on the left behind the sliding door near the kitchen. Lighters and a flashlight are at the entrance. Water There is no running water. Water for washing hands and dishes is available at the sink. The mountain fountain at the turning area is not drinking water and can be used to flush the toilet. Drinking water is about a 5-minute walk away at Flösserweg towards Hottwil. Toilet The toilet is on the right at the entrance. The key hangs on the wall (red tag). Please use the white water jugs for flushing. Terrace Behind the house, deck chairs await you.

Winter access
If there is snow, access to the Rebhüsli by car may not be possible. In this case, you can park your car for free at the Grünegg parking lot. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the Rebhüsli.

If you don't feel like cooking in the evening, there are some lovely places to eat out in the surrounding area. You'll also find everything you need nearby for groceries or everyday essentials. Hirschen Mandach approx. 3 min. by car | approx. 25 min. on foot Regional Swiss cuisine with attention to detail. Fresh, seasonal produce and creative dishes. Gasthaus Bären Hottwil approx. 5 min. by car | approx. 25 min. on foot Seasonal and regional cuisine with meat and vegetarian dishes. Gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan options are also available. Chevy’s Roadstop approx. 10 min. by car Homemade burgers, steaks, sandwiches, milkshakes, and desserts – with an American roadhouse vibe. Güggeli Sternen Bözberg approx. 15 min. by car Güggeli specialties, tarte flambée, as well as meat, vegetarian, and vegan dishes. Shopping Options For groceries and daily shopping, Volg Villigen and Volg Wil are reachable by car in about 5 minutes. So you can easily stock up on everything you need for your stay at the Rebhüsli – even if you spontaneously need something for dinner, breakfast, or a cozy evening by the fireplace. SurroundingsForest, Meadow
Right from the Rebhüsli, you can set off on wonderful walks and hikes. Whether a short loop through the surrounding vineyards or a longer tour through forests and over the Jura hills – nature begins right at your doorstep. Besseberg Circular Route approx. 2 km | approx. 35 min. A leisurely circular route through fields, forests, and over gentle hills. Ideal for a short stroll in between and to enjoy the tranquility of the Mandach landscape. Flösserweg Stage 1: Laufenburg – Hottwil approx. 3 h | Stage 2: Hottwil – Stilli approx. 3 h The Rebhüsli is located directly on the historic Flösserweg. Over about 20 km, the trail leads through varied landscapes and along the way tells exciting stories about the history of log driving.
And if winter does surprise you with snow, the Rotberg ski lift is only about a five-minute drive away. Even off the slopes, the snow-covered landscape invites you to enjoy beautiful winter hikes and long walks.
