Park Overnight (PON) offers simple, legal overnight spots in parking areas—ideal for spontaneous and safe travel. The spots are meant for one or more nights and are perfect when you need a quiet, official place to park, sleep and continue your journey.
Picturesquely nestled between steep rock faces lies the Hintersee, a popular destination for excursions. The head of the Felbertal valley is defined by this mountain lake, which was formed by a rockfall in 1495. The ice-cold water is so crystal clear that you can see right to the bottom and watch the fish swimming about. If you arrive before 7:00 PM, you'll be sharing the parking space in the top row with day-trippers. It gets quieter in the evening! Really a nice spot, toilets and waste disposal included.
Wonderful view of the national park.
The place is truly extraordinary. However, it's a pity when you arrive and have to wait in your car until the paid/booked spot occupied by day visitors (cars) becomes free.
28€ instead of a 5€ day ticket one floor down is also really steep.
So the feeling of being ripped off is definitely there.
Nice and quiet location, pleasant temperatures in midsummer due to the altitude and early shade. Busy during the day, absolutely quiet at night.
A place completely immersed in nature, absolute silence and total darkness.
We had a lovely and quiet overnight stay and a great dinner at the alpine hut right by the lake. The toilets were clean. Would definitely come back again.
The toilets were very dirty from the day, but someone still came and cleaned them, so great.
And slept very well.
