Frequently asked questions about Nomady
With us, hosts share their most beautiful nature spots and accommodations with travelers. We create a connection and promote sustainable and local tourism that benefits everyone.
Our mission is to bring hosts and campers together as easily as possible. To ensure this, we are constantly working to improve the quality and functionality of the website. The entire booking and payment process is handled by Nomady. In addition, we handle marketing, media relations, build partnerships, and of course, we are your point of contact for any problems or questions.
We dream of a platform for all of Europe where hosts can present their nature-oriented offers to travelers.
Park Overnight stands for spontaneous & safe travel. With Park Overnight, businesses can list their parking areas as motorhome or camper pitches via the Nomady platform. Thanks to a practical and visually striking sign, travelers can book their overnight stay on-site via QR code or digitally via the app & website without any administrative effort on the part of the business.
All information about Park Overnight can be found here: nomady.camp/park-overnight
Nomady allows you as a private individual or as a business to rent out your offer in nature. Associations, cooperatives, or municipalities are also very welcome. In principle, all landowners who enjoy hosting visitors are welcome.
At Nomady, we distinguish between two main categories of offers: «Camping» and «Accommodations». In the «Camping» category, you will find idyllic spots in nature for a tent, camper, or motorhome. There is also the “Park Overnight” category. This is aimed at existing surfaces that are less close to nature but intended for a safe and legal overnight stay for one night. In the «Accommodation» category, we offer cabins, glamping, and shelters, such as alpine huts, tiny houses, converted trailers, or yurts. If you have an idyllic nature spot or a beautiful accommodation, you can create a profile for free and set up as many offers as you like.
Nomady stands for camping in nature, away from the crowds. Your nature spot or accommodation should be located in a beautiful, natural environment and offer space for relaxation (except for Park Overnight). We envision a great view, an idyllic location, or proximity to a body of water (stream, river, or lake). The surrounding area offers opportunities for nature-based activities such as hiking, wildlife watching, biking, fishing, mushroom picking, etc. Not all criteria can always be met, and that's perfectly fine. After all, we are interested in a wide spectrum of sleeping options in nature.
As a host, the equipment of your camp is up to you. It is important that the camper can clearly see in your offer what equipment to expect. A dream Nomady spot has a fire pit, a table and bench for outdoor dining and, if possible, firewood. A toilet and drinking water right next to the camp or within walking distance are also sensible.
We try to keep your effort as low as possible: You manage your bookings and your calendar, act as the contact person for your guests, and maintain your camp both on-site and on our platform. Ideally, you should check your bookings daily. Our app can help you stay up to date at all times. You decide for yourself how intensive the personal support for your guests on-site should be. Over time, you will notice who needs how much attention anyway.
As a host, you also become part of our community. In doing so, you commit to our Nomady-Pakt. Its intention is to treat nature and people with respect and mindfulness. We see ourselves as a team that creates a wonderful offer through an appreciative division of labor.
We review all listings before they become visible online. We aim to offer high quality on Nomady and therefore reserve the right to reject an offer, request improvements, or even delete it if the quality is insufficient. Naturally, we communicate this and are always open to discussion.
Creating a Nomady listing is free. It doesn't cost you anything! Nomady only earns money when the listing is booked. Depending on the booking amount, service fees between 10% and 15% are due. For bookings up to 125 EUR/CHF, the fee is 15%. After that, the fee rate decreases in two steps and reaches 10% for amounts of 250 EUR/CHF.
Booking amount/Service fee: up to 125.00 CHF/EUR = 15% up to 250.00 CHF/EUR = 12.5% from 250.00 CHF/EUR = 10%
The service fee of 10-15% covers all costs. This includes credit card fees of 2-4%. Therefore, all costs within the booking are covered and you do not have to make any additional payments to Nomady.
It all depends on what your natural pitch or hut already offers. Our experience has shown that a few initial investments, such as a fire pit, a table with a bench, or a compost toilet, are well worth it. This increases the attractiveness of your offer as well as the campers' willingness to pay. It's worth it. We are happy to advise you on this.
We recommend that you signpost the way to the camp and the camp itself on-site. This makes your guest feel welcome and gives them a good first impression of your camp. As a host, we offer you high-quality metal signs. You can purchase these signs from us at cost price. Here you can find more information.
In addition to many other benefits, as a host you can build up an interesting income. Earnings vary greatly depending on the offer and region. For example, you can generate a small side income of up to 2,000 CHF/EUR per month. The earnings from your guests will be transferred to your clearing account after the stay is completed.
You define the price yourself. You enter it manually in your listing and can adjust it at any time. You have the option to set individual prices for different age groups, add prices for additional services, and, if necessary, collect the tourist tax. All of this is illustrated for you in an example under the 'Prices' section when creating your listing.
If you have activated the "Winter option", you can define different prices at the very bottom under "Winter prices".
The winter prices apply to the period defined in the winter option.
Depending on the period selected by the guest, either the summer or the winter price will be displayed and calculated.
If the winter option has no date or is deactivated, the prices defined under "Price per night" always apply.
Further price variations will be addressed and reconsidered in autumn and winter 2026. Please feel free to let us know what is important to you regarding pricing.
It is best to look at the offers of other hosts and compare them. This will give you an initial idea. Then, set a price and observe the booking behavior of the campers. Demand will clearly show you whether the price is too high or too low. You can adjust the price for future bookings at any time. When reviewing your offer, we will also take a look at the price and provide you with advice.
With small investments in equipment and good visual material, you can increase the attractiveness and the willingness of your guests to pay, and thus charge slightly higher prices.
As a final tip, it is recommended to secure the first positive bookings at the beginning with a very attractive price. As described, the price can be adjusted at any time with just a few clicks.
Whether you have to pay tourist taxes and how high they are is regulated individually by each municipality. Not every municipality levies such taxes for tourism promotion. They are mainly found in tourist areas.
Please inform yourself about this at your municipality or the local tourism organization. The tourist taxes will be paid out to you with your earnings. Add the applicable amounts in the designated area under price per person.
You are responsible for the reporting obligation yourself.
Yes, as long as you offer a listing in the “Accommodation” category. You have the option to set a one-time cleaning fee.
Yes, under "Amenities" you can choose from various billing methods to charge for additional electricity costs.
Yes, under "Amenities" you can choose from various billing methods for the firewood you provide.
We handle the entire payment process. This is managed through Stripe, and successful bookings are paid out directly to the IBAN you provided.
As a host, you only need to provide your bank details once. The amount, minus the Nomady service fees, will be transferred to your account either 2 days after the guest's stay or as a bundled monthly payment on the 3rd of the following month.
The payout includes your earnings, visitor taxes (if applicable), and any booked extra products, minus the marketing fee.
You can update your bank details in your profile at any time.
When a booking is made, Nomady charges both the host and the camper a service fee. This contributes to our survival as a company and allows us to continue connecting you as a host with campers. We primarily invest these fees in the following areas:
Community Support: Your concerns are our concerns. We want to support you whenever needed. We offer the same service to campers, maintaining a high level of personal support. You can contact us at any time!
Marketing: We know how important it is for you as a host to receive enough bookings. With significant investments in guest marketing, we support you in achieving your goals. Among other things, we maintain our social media channels, produce content for our blog, and book advertising space.
Product Development: To ensure our platform runs smoothly, developers, designers, and product managers work behind the scenes. We continue to develop the website, introduce new features, and fix issues. The user-friendliness of the website is a key factor in the success of our platform and your listing.
Cooperations: As always in life, we are stronger together. In this spirit, we use resources for purposeful cooperation with various partners in the industry. This attracts both new travelers and new hosts.
Nomady works with the payment provider Stripe. For security reasons, Stripe must verify your identity for payment transactions. Every host and camper must go through the identification process once. This data is stored.
In this PDF, you will find plenty of information, context, and answers to questions about Stripe to give you a good overview. Take a look, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Nomady does not offer its own insurance. All insurance matters are therefore the sole responsibility of the users. Nomady recommends that all users (hosts and campers) ensure they have comprehensive insurance coverage. We are currently working on a suitable Nomady insurance solution. As soon as it is ready, we will communicate this.

-
You will receive a booking confirmation with all details via email after the booking/acceptance.
-
You can export the payout receipt for a booking under "Host Menu" > "Guest Bookings" > "Past Stays" > "Open Details" of the respective booking > by clicking "Download Receipt".
-
We can create an invoice for the host service fee upon request. Please contact hello@nomady.camp with the desired period.
If you require different information or time periods, please contact hello@nomady.camp with the details; we are happy to help.
Should a situation arise where a full or partial refund to the guest is necessary, we can handle this for you. Please contact us at hello@nomady.camp and describe the situation, ideally specifying the percentage or amount you wish to refund.
You are free to decide on the portion that is paid out to you. Generally, we match your goodwill regarding the refundable portion of the host service fee, though we reserve the right to decide this on a case-by-case basis.
It is important to note that we can only do this before the payout has been made to you. We then have the option to pause the payout to clarify all details without time pressure.
The cancellation terms and fees must be observed accordingly. You can find them here: Nomady T&Cs
Taxation is divided among three parties: the guest, the host, and Nomady.
-
Guest service fee - the guest pays VAT on this at the time of booking
-
Host service fee and marketing fee - these are taxed by Nomady, except in the case of reverse charge, which is explicitly stated on the fee invoice
-
Host income (overnight stays and extra products) - these are taxed by the host after receipt
We are happy to help you understand which components are taxed. For questions regarding specific taxation and advice, we recommend consulting your trusted tax advisor.
The legal situation in Europe regarding camping on private land varies from country to country, region to region, and even from municipality to municipality.
As a host, you are always responsible for complying with the legal framework of your municipality. Camping on private land is still in its infancy. It is therefore possible that you will not find clear regulations in your country, region, or municipality.
In practice, we often find that municipalities are very positive towards Nomady. Especially when no construction measures are necessary and you, as the host, take care of peace and order, nothing stands in the way of a Nomady offer in most cases. We are happy to support you with any questions. Just write to us at hello@nomady.camp and we will be happy to call you to discuss the first steps.
You can manage the availability of your camp in the booking calendar. This is done as follows:
-
Open the booking calendar in one of the following two ways:
-
via Your listing → Edit availability
-
or on the web via the Host menu → Your calendar
-
-
Select the desired camp from the dropdown menu above the calendar if you have several.
-
Highlight all days by clicking and dragging the mouse (web) or using your finger (app) over the desired period.
-
An editing field will then open automatically.
-
There you can use the "-" to reduce the available pitches if you only want to block individual spots. You must then click on Save.
-
If you want to block your entire camp, click on Block all.
-
The days should then be marked in the calendar with a red "Blocked" or in blue with the number of available pitches.
-
In the same way, you can also release periods again if your plans change.
Guests can book up to 12 months in advance, so I recommend that you maintain your calendar as far into the future as possible.
At the top right, you also have the option to create an iCal link. This allows you to export bookings from Nomady to a calendar of your choice. Please note that manually blocked periods are not transferred, only actual bookings.
Integrating other availability calendars into Nomady is not possible.
The camper books your offer on Nomady.camp or in the app. Depending on the booking option, they can book directly or only after your approval. Nomady distinguishes between a «Booking Request» and «Instant Booking». We will tell you more about these booking options in a moment.
To keep your effort to a minimum and protect your privacy, the camper cannot contact you before booking.
Only with a booking request do they get the opportunity to write to you via our platform. Likewise, with the booking confirmation, they receive access to further private information. This includes the exact location of the camp, your phone number, as well as instructions for directions, key handover, or arrival time.
"Booking request" means that during the booking process, the camper first sends a booking request to you. As a host, you can then decide whether you want to accept or decline the booking. It is your right to decline booking requests. In such cases, please write to the camper to explain why you declined their request.
If you opt for booking requests, you should ensure that very little time passes between the request and your response (acceptance or refusal). Naturally, the camper wants to know as soon as possible if they can camp at your place. You have only 48 hours to react to the request.
Please note that many travelers travel spontaneously and therefore select the "Instant booking" filter. If you want more bookings, you should work with instant booking.
With an "Instant Booking," a camper can book your offer immediately, provided the desired date is available in the calendar. A manual confirmation from you is not necessary, nor is it possible. The booking is final. A cancellation is only possible through the standard cancellation process.
The "Instant Booking" option is very popular with campers as it allows them to book their adventure spontaneously. For you as a host, however, this means that guests can also arrive at very short notice. Your camp should therefore be ready.
After a booking or once a booking request has been accepted, the guest automatically receives the following data that you provided in your listing:
-
Booking confirmation via email as a PDF attachment, containing this information:
-
Period
-
Check-in & out times
-
Booking details
-
Address
-
Phone number
-
Price
-
Cancellation policy
-
Directions
-
Post-booking information
-
-
In addition, your guests have a booking overview in their Nomady profile with the following information:
-
Period
-
Check-in & out times
-
Phone number
-
Address
-
Map with set pins
-
Directions
-
Post-booking information
-
Booking details and the option to download the booking confirmation again
-
Chat
-
Price
-
Cancellation policy
-
Cancellation button
-
-
They also automatically receive the following in the chat upon booking or acceptance of the request:
-
Address
-
Check-in & out times
-
Directions
-
Post-booking information
-
House rules
-
If you receive feedback that your guests do not have enough information upon arrival, especially for self check-in, please update these specific fields.
The better and more complete your listing description is, the fewer questions you will receive as a host. You should collect recurring questions about your offer and include them in the listing description or in the private information for the camper, which is only shared after a successful booking.
As soon as a booking request or an instant booking has been made, a chat opens between you and the guest, which you can use to communicate with him or her.
You can find the chat under "Your Nomady" > "Chat", where all chats are listed on the left. Via "Host menu" > "Bookings from guests" > "Open details", you will also find the chat with the respective guest next to all booking details.
If you have activated the option for the guest to see your phone number and the guest has provided a phone number, these will be displayed in the booking details.
We recommend that you handle communication with the guest via the chat for traceability purposes.
You can give guests the option to send questions via chat before booking. You can activate this via "Your Nomady" > "Your personal data" > check the box "I would like to receive messages from people who have questions about my place but have not yet booked or requested.".
If you regularly receive the same questions, feel free to add this information to your listing or adjust the details to make it clearer for the guest.
We recommend always using the chat for communication with the guest; this way, conversations remain traceable and your personal data is protected.
Note: Chat messages before booking are audited by Nomady.
An "automatic reply" feature is available for Park Overnight hosts.
This can be activated under "Your Nomady" > "Your personal data" > "Notifications" > click the slider next to "Automatic reply".
This will open a text field; please insert the content of your message here and don't forget to click "Save" afterwards. This should include an alternative contact option, e.g., a phone number including the opening hours of the tourism office or an emergency contact. Always make sure to offer an alternative.
If you offer multiple Park Overnight pitches, the message will be sent for all of them. If you also have a Nomady pitch, the automatic reply will NOT be sent for that one.
The automatic reply is sent to the guest immediately as a response to their message. It looks like a regular chat message. The message is only sent once within a 24-hour period. If the guest sends multiple messages, the automatic reply is only sent once during that time to avoid spam. If you reply yourself in the chat, the automatic reply will also be suppressed for the next 24 hours.
Since Nomady Camps involve a more personal exchange between guest and host, an automatic reply is not possible there. We ask you to manage the chat as best as possible, for example by using the Nomady app. Since this is not always easy to implement at certain times, especially for agricultural businesses, this can be added as information under "Info for travelers" > "Information after booking".
In the page header under the Host menu, you will find the item “Guest bookings”. There you can find all future and past bookings. A chat history is opened for each booking. You can use the available filter functions to sort bookings by date and status, ensuring a better overview.
Under the “Your calendar” section, you will also find an overview of all booking dates and have the option to manage your availability. You can also sync your bookings with a calendar of your choice (via iCal link). Please note that only bookings are transferred, not manually blocked periods.
In your listing profile, under «Rules», you determine how your guests' arrival should take place. You can choose between the two options «With greeting» or «Self check-in»:
With «With greeting», the host hands over the camp in person. With this option, you should define a handover time with your campers after the booking. You can either write your preferred arrival time directly in the private information for the camper, under «Location|Contact», or ask the camper for their preferences.
With «Self check-in», a personal greeting does not necessarily take place. You allow your guest to drive directly to the camp. It is important with this option that the guest knows exactly where they can camp and where to find everything else, thanks to your booking details and the signage on site.
There are six cancellation options
Super Flex: Campers have the option to cancel up until the check-in time on the arrival date and will receive a refund of the total booking amount minus 1.5 times the service fee. The check-in time on the arrival date is decisive for calculating the deadline.
Flex: Campers have the option to cancel up to 24 hours before arrival and will receive a refund of the total booking amount minus 1.5 times the service fee. The check-in time on the arrival date is decisive for calculating the deadline (minus 24 hours).
Easy: Campers have the option to cancel up to 3 days before arrival and will receive a refund of the total booking amount minus 1.5 times the service fee. The check-in time on the arrival date is decisive for calculating the deadline (minus three calendar days).
Mittel: Campers have the option to cancel up to 10 days before arrival and will receive a refund of the total booking amount minus 1.5 times the service fee. The check-in time on the arrival date is decisive for calculating the deadline (minus ten calendar days).
Streng: Campers have the option to cancel up to 30 days before arrival and will receive a refund of the total booking amount minus 1.5 times the service fee. The check-in time on the arrival date is decisive for calculating the deadline (minus thirty calendar days).
Keine: Campers have no option to cancel. The total booking amount including the service fee will be charged, even if the camp is not used during the booked period. A refund is excluded.
In this case, you will receive a message in the «Bookings» section. The date will be automatically released so that other campers can book. Your choice of cancellation policy determines the conditions under which the camper can cancel.
This feature is not yet available. In such cases, please contact our customer service.
You can simply block the dates in the calendar when your listing cannot be booked. We do not recommend closing the listing (by clicking on the three dots for the respective listing under «your listings»). Doing so would also prevent bookings for the upcoming spring and summer.
At Nomady, both campers and hosts can leave reviews. Good reviews help you market your offer more effectively. Likewise, you can use reviews of campers to get an idea of your potential guest. Your feedback helps both the campers and future hosts.
Leaving a review is voluntary and does not happen automatically.
The process works as follows: After the stay, both parties are invited to write a review. The guest's review of the host is published immediately. The host's review of the guest is only published if the guest has also submitted a review. However, after 30 days, this one-sided review also becomes public.
The review function is very helpful for providing a transparent picture of the camper, host, and camp. We rely on respectful and truthful interactions in accordance with our Nomady-Pakt.
For the sake of transparency, neither campers nor hosts can change or delete their reviews. However, if a review is incorrect or offensive, please contact us and we will decide how to handle it.
We are sorry that you had a bad experience. To keep reviews truthful and transparent, both positive and negative feedback have their place. Please describe your experience constructively, objectively, truthfully, and in a respectful tone. Please try to talk to the camper and describe what you didn't like. Please contact us if a public review should not be suitable.
In the header area of our website, you will find the option “Become a host” at the top left between “Info” and “Your Nomady/Login”. Here, you will be guided step-by-step through the creation of your listing. This takes about 30 minutes. Don't worry, it's very simple and self-explanatory. Furthermore, your listing won't go online immediately; it will first be reviewed by us. At this stage, only you and we can see the listing. So you can experiment and fine-tune it. Your data is saved on every page (as long as you click “save” at the bottom of the page). This allows you to spread the creation of your listing over several days.
Creating a listing is free of charge. You can also delete your listing and contact details at any time. We do not have fixed contract terms or notice periods.
Do you need support in designing your listing? We are happy to help, just write to us at hello@nomady.camp.
Yes, you can make changes at any time under "My listings" by selecting "Edit listing". In fact, we ask you to always keep your listing up to date. The quality and accuracy of the listings are very important to us.
That is up to you. We recommend starting with one or two listings and growing slowly. You can offer both "Camping" and "Accommodations".
If your natural spot offers enough space for several groups of guests, you can set the number of pitches in your listing accordingly. Your spot can then be booked multiple times. However, the pitches must be practically identical and have the same facilities. Otherwise, we ask you to create two separate listings with different names. Please also note that the maximum number of people, which you can also define, refers to one pitch. Therefore, this number (max. number of people) is always a multiplier of the number of pitches in a listing.
The name of your listing is how you stand out from the crowd. It should be unique, attractive, short, and easy to remember. For example, try incorporating the name of the town, a nearby river, or a mountain. Is there something special to see or experience from there? What did your ancestors call the place? Be creative! And remember, brevity is the soul of wit!
The description of your listing is its centerpiece. It should clearly show the guest what to expect.
What is special about your spot? What does the surrounding area look like? What can be seen from the camp? What should I be prepared for? What are the distances to the infrastructure?
Please do not include email addresses, phone numbers, or links to websites here.
Under "Amenities," you can go into more detail. So, make sure the description primarily makes people want to see more.
Whether you activate instant booking or prefer to receive a request from your guests first is ultimately up to you.
We always recommend instant booking, as guests prefer camps with this feature and it increases your bookings. Additionally, booking on request requires an extra confirmation or rejection, which means an additional step for you.
We have various options that might help you make instant booking possible.
Helpful features include:
-
Blocking times in the booking calendar when you cannot receive guests.
-
Integrating your Nomady bookings into an external calendar via an iCAL link to have an overview of all bookings there.
-
Activating the advance booking period, i.e., how many days before arrival your guests can book.
-
Offering self check-in and providing all information for the guests so they have the possibility to arrive on their own without needing someone on-site.
If you would like additional tips and support, please feel free to contact hello@nomady.camp.
With more and more offers on the platform, the first impression is becoming increasingly important. Good photos help to better present and market your camp.
Pay attention to good lighting conditions and use a high-quality camera. A smartphone camera with good resolution is also an option. Give campers an overview. Use your pictures to make it clear where a tent, van, or camper can be placed, and try to answer questions about the surroundings, landscape, and facilities. Photograph the site from various perspectives.
Take photos from a distance and capture the immediate surroundings. Photograph the fire pit, table and bench, and the toilet. Start your gallery with a meaningful and attractive cover photo.
Tip: Ask your first guests if you can take a few photos of the "real" camping situation.
Here you will find a checklist and some additional tips for the perfect camp photos. The eye camps too (PDF)
Tip: Image descriptions help the guest follow your familiar eye and get a good overview.
Our campers love making their own campfires. This is an opportunity often denied to them at standard campsites. Unfortunately, entire regions are increasingly having to issue fire bans due to dry spells. In such cases, we ask you to inform your guests accordingly. As responsible campers, they will understand.
The decision is yours. If you are unsure, we recommend including the firewood in the rental price as a first step. Experience with your first guests will show how high the wood consumption actually is.
Many campers are self-sufficient. However, the option to use electricity, whether for small devices or the van, is still very popular. You can decide here what you want to offer and at what price.
No, drinking water or running water is not mandatory, but it is very much appreciated. A water source can be a well, a tap on the barn, or a stream with potable water.
Please describe in your listing where the nearest well is or where fresh water can otherwise be obtained if there is no direct water access. In such cases, some hosts offer a small water canister for guests to borrow.
Most campers will need to wash their dishes at some point during their stay. It is, of course, practical if there is also a surface or a tub available at the water source for this purpose.
As a host, you decide whether campers should dispose of their waste on-site or take it with them to dispose of it themselves.
In our Nomady Pact, we clearly state that campers must leave your site exactly as they found it.
Our experience has shown that providing a waste bag that can be handed in at the end of the stay is very much appreciated.
A toilet near the camp significantly enhances the site and is frequently requested by campers. They appreciate it and are willing to pay more for such spots.
The toilet can be located at the farm/main house. A walking distance of, for example, 200m is perfectly fine. Our experience shows that for an idyllic spot, guests are happy to accept a short walk to use the toilet.
If there is no toilet available yet and the distance is too far, we recommend building or purchasing a composting toilet. These can be very cost-effective solutions. We are happy to advise you.
The opportunity to freshen up for the next adventure is a clear upgrade and, for many campers, a valid reason to pay a bit more. Whether it's an outdoor shower or access to a regular shower, you are welcome to offer what you like and include it in your pricing.
Nomady Camp
We recommend putting up signs for the path to the camp and at the camp itself. This makes your guests feel welcome and ensures a great first impression.
Park Overnight Pitch
To allow your guests to book your camp spontaneously on-site, it is mandatory for all Park Overnight pitches to display a sign with the relevant information. You can design this yourself or simply order one through us.
As a host, we offer you high-quality metal signs. You can purchase these signs from us at cost price.
In this case, simply enter the coordinates. We recommend checking the entry once. Especially in remote locations, a bit of directions is helpful for the traveler.
All Nomady users, hosts and campers alike, commit to the Nomady Pact. This pact is about a fundamental attitude of respect towards people and nature. Specific details are not regulated within it. For this purpose, you can establish your own camping rules under "Rules". If they are particularly important to you, you can also send them to the camper again before they book, or mention them at the latest in the booking details.
When creating your listing, you can fill in the following information under «Location | Contact»:
- The exact address of the camp
- Your phone number
- Further information such as directions, check-in, handover, additional phone numbers, etc.
- Map of the camp marking firewood, toilet, water point, etc.
Campers only receive this information after a confirmed booking.
Would you like to offer your guests self check-in? That's great and makes a lot of sense for your operation.
In this case, please use the following fields to give your guests an overview of your camp and describe, for example, how to get to the bathroom, where they can set up camp, where to find someone on-site, or any other important information they need for their arrival.
-
"Address and location" > "Directions"
-
"Info for travelers" > "Information after booking"
-
"Attachments"
These fields will only be revealed to guests after the booking is completed.
The criteria for secluded location (Alleinlage) are as follows:
-
Does your camp offer exclusivity, meaning travelers have the spot all to themselves?
-
Is your camp in a secluded location, with nothing but nature in the surroundings?
If the answer to both is yes, then your camp is suitable for the secluded location setting, and you can check the box in your listing under "Booking details" and "Does your guest have your camp to themselves?".
The secluded location setting not only ensures that the secluded location icon is displayed on your camp and that you can be found under the secluded location filter, but there are also various functions behind it.
An overview of the functions:
-
With the secluded location activated, your camp can only be occupied by one booking during a specific period.
-
If the camp is large enough for several campers or tents, the corresponding number can be specified under "Booking details" and then "Max. pitches/tent sites". This allows guests visiting your camp together to book your site, but exclusively via one single booking.
-
This means that all "open" pitches/tent sites are blocked for that period after a booking is made, so that the camp is fully occupied.

If you offer several pitches/tent sites spread across your property that are out of sight of other guests and do not share infrastructure, you can create two listings with individual photos for each spot.
-
If the infrastructure is shared with other guests, but all other points apply, the camp can count as a secluded location, but this information must be clearly recognizable. If you are unsure whether this applies, please contact Anna at hello@nomady.camp.
The secluded location setting is only available for pitches and tent sites. This function is not available for accommodations; here, this special feature should be made clear through the photos and the description text.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer. However, these points will help you:
- Design and maintain your listing with care
- Offer popular amenities (e.g., a toilet)
- Keep your listing and availability calendar up to date
- Activate Instant Booking
- Respond quickly and politely to booking requests or messages
- Create a consistent profile with a simple and clear description
- Use high-quality and expressive photos
- Aim for many and recent reviews
- Advise guests on activities in the region and provide information material
- Create additional offers such as bread service, farm products, etc.
- Promote your listing and share the link to your Nomady offer on your own social media channels or, if available, on your own website.
- Contact us for a joint social media campaign.
You can change your email address under "My Account" in the "Contact details" section.
You can delete your profile at any time under “Your personal data” and then by clicking on “Delete profile”.
No, in principle, the images created by Nomady or a Nomady scout are only permitted for use on the Nomady.camp website. For any other use, please contact us and we will look into it together.
We maintain two different newsletters: one with specific topics for you as a host and one for our campers. You will receive the host newsletter automatically. It contains all the important changes and updates regarding our platform and is our primary tool for communicating with you. We also recommend subscribing to the camper newsletter so you can stay up to date there as well.
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Or simply get in touch with us!
Nomady has high quality standards for its camps. That's why we will contact you personally as a host to ensure that you are the person associated with the profile. Don't worry, we won't bombard you with questions.
Verified means that a Nomady scout has personally visited your site to confirm the accuracy of your information and has photographed the camp. Our verification package includes the verification process, photography, and a high-quality metal sign. As the number of camps grows, offering a trustworthy listing is becoming increasingly important. Please contact us directly at hello@nomady.camp
You can customize your email and push notifications in your profile.
You can find the settings under "Your Nomady" > "Your personal data" > "Notifications" > adjust the sliders as desired.
There are a few selected notifications that cannot be turned off, as we want to ensure that you receive this information. These include, among others, booking confirmations and cancellations.
Email notifications can be adjusted in both the web and app versions. Push notifications can only be adjusted in the app. If you still do not receive push notifications despite adjusting them in the app, you may need to adjust the notification settings on your smartphone.
The billing of tourist taxes is a relevant part of tourism in many regions and is mandatory for you as a host. You can find out from your local municipality whether you are obliged to pay tourist taxes.
We provide you with the option to bill tourist taxes via Nomady, but we assume no liability.
You are responsible for the reporting obligation yourself.
You can enter the tourist taxes in your camp as follows:
-
via the menu bar »Host Menu« to »Your Listings«
-
open the listing in which you want to store the tourist tax via »Edit Listing«
-
under »Price per night« scroll all the way down to »Tourist tax due«
-
check the box here and select »The tourist taxes are calculated per person and night.«
-
add the amount of the tourist tax and the corresponding age level according to the information from your municipality
-
don't forget to »Save«
Repeat this for all your camps that are subject to tourist tax.
This way, the tourist tax is collected from the guest and forwarded to you with the payout of your earnings.
Reporting guest data to your local municipality is a relevant part of tourism in many regions and is mandatory for you as a host. You can find out from your local municipality whether you are obliged to report guest data.
Yes, you can collect extended guest data via Nomady.
You can activate the collection of extended registration data in just a few clicks. Here’s how:
-
Go to "Your listings" via the "Host menu" in the menu bar
-
Open the listing where you want to store the tourist tax via "Edit listing"
-
Under "Price per night", scroll all the way down to "Tourist tax due"
-
Check the box for "Collect extended guest data"
-
"Save"
And just like that, the data will be collected for all future bookings of your camp.
Guest data can only be collected if the tourist tax is settled via Nomady.
By activating this, the following data from your guests will be collected during booking:
-
from the main guest and all accompanying persons
-
First & last name
-
Date of birth
-
Nationality
-
Identification for foreign guests
-
Document type
-
Identification number
-
Date of issue
-
Issuing authority
-
-
-
exclusively from the main guest - the person booking
-
Gender
-
Home address
-
-
Number of dogs
More data may be collected than is required in your municipality. This is because we have tried to request all relevant data for all the countries represented on our platform.
If your municipality allows digital guest registration or if the data is needed for guest cards, this is an ideal solution for you.
While it is not quite as automated as an interface, it still saves you a lot of work.
You can easily download the data yourself to send it to your municipality. The guest data is added after the guests have departed:
-
Go to »Host Menu« via the menu bar and select »Finances«
-
Open the »Reports« section
-
Under »Extended Guest Data«, you can download the data as a CSV for a month or a full year
If the data for a guest card is needed in advance, it is available in the booking details of the respective booking:
-
Go to »Host Menu« via the menu bar and select »Guest Bookings«
-
Scroll to the desired booking and open it via »Open Details«
-
On the right, below the »Price Details«, you will now find the guest data
It is important to note that this data is only collected once the checkbox for collecting guest data is ticked, and it is then compiled into this document. Initially, the exported documents will still be empty.
To ensure that your guest data reporting can be handled fully automatically via feratel, your municipality must allow guest registration through feratel.
Your To-Dos to prepare for activation:
-
Inquire with your municipality whether they use feratel for guest registration.
-
Obtain the municipality number (Gemeinde-Nummer) and your business number (Betriebsnummer) from your municipality.
-
Inform your municipality that they need to activate the channel Nomady.camp (formerly like2camp) in the system so that we are authorized to send your data.
Activation in Nomady:
-
Activate "Collect extended guest data" as described above
-
Go to "Your listings" via the "Host menu" in the menu bar
-
Open the listing for which you want to submit data via "Edit listing"
-
Under "Price per night", scroll all the way down to "Guest registration"
-
Insert the municipality number and business number
-
Click on "Check access data"
-
If everything worked, "Verified" will appear in green text instead of the button you just clicked
-
Repeat this for all your camps where guest registration is required.
Possible reasons why it didn't work:
-
Your municipality has not activated the Nomady.camp (formerly like2camp) channel in feratel.
-
You are already using your business number on another platform. It cannot be used for multiple platforms simultaneously; you will need an additional business number.
-
You have several camps in different municipalities and the municipality number is incorrect.
If you have found all the functions but it still doesn't work, please contact your municipality in the first instance. If everything is correctly selected and set up there, we will of course be happy to support you.
Yes, there is a recording of our webinar on the entire topic of guest registration.
You can watch the webinar here:
Yes, extra products can be offered via Nomady.
These products can be individually defined and offered to guests. Billing is also handled via Nomady, and payment is made along with the regular payout of earnings.
No, we want to be accommodating.
We only charge the host a 10% marketing fee per booking.
The earnings will be sent to you with your regular payout, and the fee will be deducted at the same time.
You can create and customize an extra product in your listing. Proceed as follows:
-
Open the desired offer in which you want to create an extra product via "Host Menu" > "Your Listings" > "Edit Listing".
-
You will find all setting options under "Extras".
-
Here you can get inspired by "Templates of offers from other hosts" and use the templates, or create your own via "Add product". The following points can always be edited individually; when using a template, we already suggest some points for you.
-
Choose the appropriate "Category", you can choose from:
-
Catering
-
Comfort
-
Transport
-
Tickets
-
Experience
-
Pet
-
Other
-
-
A placeholder image is defined based on the selected category, but we recommend uploading your own image of the offer.
-
Ideally, give your product a self-explanatory name via "Title".
-
If necessary, add a "Description", e.g., what the breakfast basket consists of. Keep the description short, but give guests all the necessary information.
-
Select the desired "Billing type":
-
Per night
-
Per person
-
Per person and night
-
Per piece
-
Per stay
-
-
Set the desired "Price" accordingly.
-
You can then choose whether you want to "Generate a booking code" individually or inform the guests of a numerical code or the location of a key yourself via "Information after booking".
-
You can set the extra product as a "Mandatory extra" if it is to be an integral part of your offer. This way, the added value and any additional costs for the guest are visible at first glance.
-
Under "Availability" you can edit the availability of your product; you can find out how to do this here.
-
Don't forget to "Save" and your extra product will be displayed in this offer.
-
You can make adjustments in the future via "Edit" if necessary.
You can find out what changes in existing information and what else needs to be considered in the other FAQ articles on extra products.
The costs for electricity and firewood continue to be defined under the respective items in the "Amenities" section. All information has been transferred and no action is required, though we still recommend taking a look.
Selecting "sold on-site" or, for wood, "guest brings firewood" remains unchanged.
If "included in the price" or "charged per night" is selected, the corresponding card opens below and it is automatically created under "Extras".
If it is "included in the price", the price will be displayed as 0 CHF/€. This directly shows the guest the added value of your camp.
If they are "charged per night", the data can be created like a regular extra product. You can find the exact step-by-step description hier.
The price details under "Price per night" are no longer applicable.
If your extra product is only available from June to August, for example, you can manage this via the availability calendar. You can maintain this as follows:
-
Open "Extras" and select "Availability" for the desired product.
-
The calendar will open, showing you all saved adjustments as well as the periods during which your camp is not bookable.
-
Individual days can be blocked by clicking on the respective date.
-
Multiple days, weeks, or a month can also be blocked by dragging.
-
To do this, "click" on the first day, hold the mouse button or your finger "pressed" and "drag" to the desired last day.
-
A window will then open in which you must confirm the blocking again.
-
-
You can tell if the blocking was successful by the fact that the days are colored red.
-
It is important to confirm everything by clicking "Save" afterwards.
If you have accidentally blocked too much or if availability becomes available again, you can also release days using the same method. Available days can be recognized by the fact that they are colored green.
IMPORTANT: An extra product can always be booked as many times as there are available pitches or the max. number of people offered in the respective camp, depending of course on the billing method. Example: You offer a breakfast plate per person and night. Your camp has 2 pitches, each with a max. number of 6 people, and these have been booked accordingly. In this case, it is possible for 12 breakfast plates to be booked.
If you offer the same product for several camps, you can easily copy the extra product. Here's how it works:
-
You have fully created your extra product in one camp.
-
Open "Extras" in the other camp where you would also like to offer the product.
-
Instead of creating a new product or using a template, open the "From other camps" tab.
-
All extra products that you have created in other camps will now be displayed here.
-
You can use "Add" to offer the desired product in this camp as well.
-
The product will then move directly to the "Active" tab.
-
You can make adjustments via "Edit", otherwise everything will be copied identically.
-
Repeat this for all desired extra products in all desired camps.
-
Adjustments made after adding must be implemented in each extra product in each camp; these are not automatically updated across camps.
This function is a simple copy; there are no dependencies between the extra products and camps.
It is then possible for 12 breakfast plates to be booked.
If you can no longer offer your extra product, have accidentally created too many, or want to prepare it for future use, you can archive it.
-
Click on "Archive" for the corresponding extra product.
-
This will move the product to the "Archived" tab.
-
The extra product is now deactivated and will no longer be offered to guests.
-
If you want to use it again, go to the "Archived" tab, click on "Restore," and you can offer it once more.
Extra products are displayed to the guest at your camp and directly before booking.
The booked extra products, as well as the generated and associated codes, are shown to both you and the guest in the booking details on Nomady, as well as on the booking confirmations.
"Extra products" are replacing the "Host offers".
During this transition period, these will still be displayed to guests. To edit them, you can contact Anna directly at hello@nomady.camp, and she will handle the changes for you.
You can see which "Host offers" you have listed in a marked box under "Extras" (within the extra products section).
In the long term, the "Host offers" will be deleted; as a host, you will of course be informed before this happens.
Nomady brings hosts and travelers together, creating local and sustainable tourism. We dream of a platform where you can travel close to nature across all of Europe. Whether with a camper, a tent, or in nature-oriented accommodation.
As a camper, you will find the most beautiful spots for your adventure with us. Simply browse the offers, find an available date, apply further filters as desired, and book. An unforgettable experience is just around the corner.
Our mission is to connect hosts and travelers as easily as possible. To ensure this succeeds, we are constantly striving to improve the quality and functions of the website.
In addition, we handle marketing, media relations, and build partnerships, guarantee booking and payment transactions, and are available to help with any questions.
If you have any questions or feedback for us, please write to hello@nomady.camp
With the search field, you can search for both regions and specific locations. Then use the zoom function on the map to determine the radius. You can also move freely around the map to find more offers.
The Nomady Pact summarizes the core values for camping: be friendly and respectful, enjoy nature consciously rather than digitally, leave no trash or traces, and take joy in the experience. The goal is to enable sustainable, considerate, and conscious nature camping for everyone.
Verified means that a Nomady scout has personally visited the site to confirm the accuracy of the information and, in most cases, has also photographed the camp.
Top Hosts are outstanding and experienced hosts who can achieve this status at Nomady if their reviews, cancellation rate, and rejection rate are very positive and consistent.
When making a fire, please use the fire bowl or the fire pit provided. If these are not available and the fire symbol is not active in the listing, you must unfortunately refrain from making a fire. If anything is unclear, please ask your hosts. If national or local regulations or fire bans due to forest fire risk are in place, these naturally also apply to Nomady camps. We ask you to follow the instructions and wishes of your hosts.
Most camps offer a toilet; please use it. In some cases, certain camps may not have sanitary facilities. This information is always visible in the camp description. When nature calls, please follow the "leave no trace" instructions and rules. Here is a video.
In the listing, you will find a wealth of information about the camp and the host. After a booking request or a direct booking, you will have the opportunity to contact/inform the host. This is mostly used to clarify things like arrival times and specific details.
To protect the privacy of the hosts and prevent a "bombardment" of questions, you can only contact them after booking. There is currently no other way to do this. Our hosts are often farmers or professionals who have other jobs and run Nomady as a side business. To protect them from a high volume of inquiries, we try to clarify all questions beforehand and limit the messaging function.
With the booking confirmation, you will also receive access to a booking overview. Here you will find the exact location and directions to the camp, further information about the offer, and the host's phone number.
Yes, you can either set your “requirements” directly via the filter options or increase the number of spots directly at the camp.
On the camp page, you will find several input fields on the right. Select your desired date, the number of people, and the number of pitches required.
Once you have made your selection, you can proceed with the booking by clicking the corresponding button. On the following page, we ask you to write a message to the host; this is also where you can redeem vouchers or discount codes. Then, proceed to the payment section to enter your payment details. After clicking the "Confirm payment" button, you will automatically be taken to the booking overview. For booking requests, your booking is only final once the host has accepted. Your credit card will be charged upon booking confirmation.
The prices of an offer are determined by the host themselves. They have various options to set up a pricing model that suits them. Furthermore, the Nomady service fee is added to the set price. If a tourist tax is required, this will also be added directly and paid separately by the host. The exact price breakdown will be displayed to you during and after the booking process.
Nomady offers you a choice between the following payment methods: Paypal, Giropay, TWINT, iDEAL, EPS, Google Pay, Apple Pay & credit card.
Depending on the region, hosts are legally required to pay a tourist tax or tourism levy for their guests. The amount and specific regulations for this levy are defined in the respective local registration laws.
The tourist tax can be reported either directly via Nomady or on-site by the hosts. Payment may also be handled differently depending on the accommodation:
-
either directly online via Nomady
-
or on-site with the hosts
Whether a tourist tax applies and the exact amount will be transparently displayed in the listing or during the booking process.
Since we are legally required to ensure correct reporting, guest data must also be collected in these cases.
For a booking request, the host has 72 hours to respond or until the earliest arrival time. Requests for the same day can be made until 6:00 PM and must be accepted by 7:00 PM.
Please be patient – many of our hosts work in agriculture and are not online all the time. They will get back to you as soon as possible.
In urgent cases (very short-term requests), you can contact our support.
There are six cancellation options:

You can find your past trips under «Your Nomady» in the «Your bookings» section.
In the search bar, you will find a separate section with all the filters available to you.
Bookings can be made up to 12 months in advance. This allows you to plan your holiday perfectly.
With Instant Booking, your reservation is confirmed immediately. If you're in a hurry, you should filter for Instant Booking. You can recognize these listings by the lightning bolt symbol. With a Booking Request, the host must first manually accept or decline your booking. The booking is only final once it has been confirmed. The host will respond to you as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind that many of our hosts are farmers who do not have permanent access to the internet or mobile phones. We appreciate your patience.
You can withdraw your booking request as follows:
Go to your bookings in your profile
-
select the relevant request
-
click on withdraw under the cancellation policy
Under "Your bookings", you can view your planned trips. Simply click on the relevant booking. Below the booking overview, you can cancel the booking in accordance with your host's cancellation policy. Please check the applicable cancellation policy first, which you will also find there. Cancellations are accepted exclusively via the designated cancellation tool. Verbal or written agreements cannot be taken into account.
A GetYourGuide booking must be cancelled separately if the original booking is cancelled.
The refund process starts automatically in our system immediately after your cancellation. Depending on the payment method, it can take 7 to 10 business days for the money to appear in your account.
You can extend your booking via "Your Bookings". Unfortunately, it is not possible to shorten a booking. Additionally, booking extra people or pitches is not possible and must be done via a new booking.
Yes. After completing your booking, you have the option to book suitable activities via GetYourGuide. You will be redirected directly to GetYourGuide. Simply go to the details of your booking and see which activities are available in the area.
Important: Activity bookings are made independently of your original booking with us. Therefore, we cannot provide any information or make changes regarding these bookings.
If you have any questions about an activity, your booking, or a cancellation, please contact GetYourGuide support directly https://www.getyourguide.com/de-de/contact/ . A GetYourGuide booking must be cancelled separately if you cancel your original booking.
You can easily extend your booking as follows: While logged in, go to "Your Bookings" and click on the relevant booking. The booking overview will open, and you will find the "Extend stay" section at the bottom.
Select «Reset password» in the login window. Enter the email address associated with your profile. We will send an email to this address with a link and the option to reset your password. You will then be prompted to define and confirm a new password. Now all you have to do is log in again.
You can change your email address at any time under “Your personal data” in your profile.
You can delete your profile at any time under “Your personal data” and then by clicking on “Delete profile”.
At Nomady, both campers and hosts can leave a review. Through mutual reviews between hosts and campers, we aim to create transparency and cultivate respectful interaction with each other and with nature.
Submitting a review is voluntary and does not happen automatically. The process works as follows: After the stay, both parties are asked to write a review. During the first week after the stay, you can only see the other party's review if you have also written one yourself. After one week, both mutual and one-sided reviews become public.
The review function is very helpful in providing a transparent picture of the camper, host, and camp. We rely on respectful and truthful interaction in accordance with our Nomady Pact.
For the sake of transparency, neither campers nor hosts can change or delete their reviews. However, if a review is incorrect or offensive, please contact us.
We are sorry that you had a bad experience. To keep reviews truthful and transparent, both positive and negative feedback have their place. Please describe your experience constructively, objectively, truthfully, and in a respectful tone. Please try to talk to the host and describe what you didn't like. Please contact us if a public review should not be suitable.
We are always happy to receive feedback. We are particularly pleased with reviews in your app store and on Google. You are also welcome to write to us directly at hello@nomady.camp
