We had a rather strange and disappointing experience during our stay. From the beginning, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and I couldn’t help but wonder whether it was because we're from Zurich, because I'm a foreigner, or perhaps both.
On the first day, while waiting at the Spielplatz with my daughter for the other camper family to arrive, I had a beer and she had an Apfelschorle—just a casual, relaxed moment. When the other family showed up, my daughter was excited to see other children and we ran over to greet them, forgetting our drinks at the playground.
Later that evening, while we were sitting around the fire, the owner approached me quite aggressively, shoved the drinks into my hand, and said sternly in German, "I tell you only one time," before walking away. I went over to speak with him calmly and asked what the issue was and why he seemed so upset, but he simply said, “That’s just how I am.”
When we left, I tried to say goodbye, but the owner’s wife gave us a very disinterested and cold farewell. All in all, they didn’t come across as particularly suited to hospitality.
That said, the campsite itself was lovely. The plot felt secluded despite being near the farmhouse, the views were beautiful, and our children had a great time at the Spielplatz.
