Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Camp Gazzilloro is your ideal base for discovering a wealth of historical, artistic, and natural treasures, many of which are off the beaten path and unknown to most. From the recently discovered 'Tomb of the Yew Tree' just 3 km from Fercole, to Etruscan museums, the ancient Etruscan 'cave road' carved into the tuff of Sovana, and charming towns like Pitigliano, Pienza, and the whimsical 'Tarot Garden'. The camp is easily accessible from the main road, offering shaded spots or a grassy area with breathtaking sunset views. Even during the warmer months, the area often enjoys a refreshing breeze, ensuring cool evenings and a guaranteed good night's sleep! Please note, this isn't a traditional campsite, but as fellow campers who adore open spaces, we offer a parking spot for like-minded travelers. Since there's no 'reception' at the entrance, we kindly ask you not to book for the same day without contacting us first, and to arrive by 7 PM, unless otherwise arranged! The thermal baths of Petriolo are a mere 5 km away, and the nearest village (Casal di Pari), with a grocery store and restaurant, is also within walking distance (approx. 1.5 km). The Maremma coast offers diverse options: from the free beach of Principina in the Uccellina Nature Reserve, to Castiglione della Pescaia, the gem of Cala Violina, and the enchanting Giglio Island. Siena is just over 35 km away: Piazza del Campo hosts the famous Palio on July 2nd and August 16th – a unique opportunity to experience the incredible atmosphere of an ancient tradition lived with captivating passion. Florence, with its artistic masterpieces, is easily reachable by car or bus, allowing you to explore the city freely.
