Though centrally located in the village (expect some ambient village sounds!), our camp offers ample space and a connection to nature. Our vibrant animal community (now rooster-free!) provides endless entertainment throughout the day – there's always something happening!

XXL caravans welcome! The camp is conveniently situated right by the train station/PostBus hub. The outdoor pool, shopping, and various restaurants/takeaways are all within walking distance.

Balsthal is the gateway to the Jura mountains. Nearby leisure activities include the climbing park in Langenbruck, a summer toboggan run, hiking in Thal Nature Park, two mini-golf courses, an indoor pool, and bowling.

Our 'Buureschränkli' (farm shop) offers a changing selection of organic quality products for sale:
Local beer, dried meat, and honey; jam, apple cider, and eggs directly from the farm. For chilly days, you can also find local Finnish candles.

Various dining options are available: an Italian-run restaurant right next door (we recommend the pizza or Fritto Misto), a kiosk with fresh croissants and coffee in the morning, a petrol station shop at the village entrance, and various other shops and restaurants in the village center.

A train station kiosk offering fresh croissants, coffee, ice cream, and more is right next door. Coop & Migros supermarkets are within walking distance. There's also a highly recommended Italian restaurant right next door (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).

Village charm, enchanting forests, scenic hiking trails, majestic castles and ruins, a fantastic swimming lake, bison in the Thal Nature Park, and the Sikipark nearby!

Camp SOAY

In unserer kleinen Oase mitten im Naturpark Thal findest du das ideale Basecamp für Ausflüge rund um Balsthal, auch im Winter!

Obwohl das Camp zentral im Dorf liegt (Geräuschkulisse!) bietet es viel Platz und Natur. 
Unsere Soayschafe und Hühner sind halbwild, können nicht gestreichelt aber beobachtet werden.

Ideal auch für 2 kleine Familien mit 2 Zelte/Camper/Gespanne Das Camp liegt direkt am Bahnhof; Freibad, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in Fussdistanz.
In der Region kann man gemütliche Spaziergänge machen, bei Schnee im Jura Schlitteln, Langlaufen, Winter- und Schneeschuhwandern, und sogar Skifahren - Nicht ganz wie in den "richtigen" Bergen aber besonders für Kinder und Anfänger ideal.
Zudem kann man bei Schlechtwetter z.B. Bowlen, Ruinen erkunden, den Zoo Sikypark besuchen, Ausflüge nach Solothurn machen, verschiedene kleine örtliche Museen erkunden usw.

Der Stellplatz ist eben, teilweise befestigt und das ganze Jahr gleich befahrbar. Das WC ist nicht beheizt aber auch im Winter uneingeschränkt in Betrieb inkl. Warmwasser.

Unser Hoflädeli bietet für die kalten Tage auch Finnenkerzen für unsere Gäste an!
