Camping on Lake Maggiore

Bosco della Bella

Switzerland-6998 Monteggio
The holiday homes designed by architect Justus Dahinden and the swimming pool are a testament to this legacy. Today, our tourist offerings include one bungalow, the Casa Roncaccia, and two 4-room holiday apartments. We are now opening three zones, each with 10-12 spots for campers. In the area leading directly to the forest, camping with dogs is also permitted. You are free to set up your camp wherever you like within these areas—there is plenty of space and shade available. Furthermore, the gr…

Great, everything you need. We had a lot of peace and quiet, were almost alone on a huge meadow with our own sanitary facilities because no one else was there. Pool was great. Showers were great. Staff was friendly.
Very beautiful place with a lot of potential! A former holiday village that is unfortunately a bit run-down. Nevertheless, it is a place where you can feel comfortable! Right on the river, bus stop directly accessible via the underpass, so practically inside the holiday village, with buses once an hour in both directions: to Tresa and to Luino. The swimming pool was initially unusable, first due to algae, then due to chlorine, but the staff made an effort to clean the pool so that it could be used on the third day after all.
Perfect spot for a calm stay. Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff. Facilities are dated but very clean.
For me, it was the perfect spot. Quiet, not many people, clean toilets and showers, and a pool. There is a small café serving fries, hot dogs (when available), etc., but the restaurant is closed.
I wasn't there in person because of engine failure
The only positive was that we could camp down at the actual site. The faucet in the women's restroom was missing (making it impossible to wash your hands). The pool was not maintained, and we couldn't use it for 3 days due to algae. A coffee at the on-site kiosk costs 7.50 CHF, served with a croissant that had been reheated from the day before.
