Camp l'Ortica

We were really looking forward to spending a week of camping here with our two children, based on the description and the facilities advertised. Unfortunately, we decided to leave after the first night. The natural setting is genuinely beautiful. The campsite is right by the Mincio River, and waking up surrounded by nature was the only real highlight of our stay. However, the facilities and services were very disappointing and did not match the advertised description. The restaurant was closed for the entire week of our stay, but we were never informed in advance. The owner was not present, and there was very little information… The sanitary facilities were in poor condition: there was no more toilet paper, the toilets had no working lights, and the shower was extremely basic, with only a curtain providing privacy. Overall, the place felt neglected and almost abandoned. We chose this campsite because it advertised a restaurant, an educational farm, bike services, and a welcoming atmosphere, but these features were either unavailable or not visible during our stay. It’s a real shame because the location has great potential. Surrounded by beautiful nature and the river, it could be a wonderful place with more care and better communication. Unfortunately, in its current state, we cannot recommend it.

Campsite located at an idyllic spot with large spaces on the riverfront and within walking distance from Borghetto. Four electric points available for campers. The outdoor shower was basic but fine. However, the toilet facilities were mouldy and were not cleaned throughout our four night stay. WiFi advertised, but the network remained unavailable. Upon arrival the site was in disarray with leftovers from a garden party strewn all over. This was cleaned next day, but toilets were forgotten. Owners seemed more interested in running a restaurant on site during the weekend than looking after their camping guests. Disappointing.

Everything was great, a really beautiful place❤️

It is a very beautiful and quiet campsite in a wonderful location. Within walking distance of Valeggio and Borghetto. Everything is very straightforward. Outdoor showers and toilets are okay.

Okay and nothing more; unfortunately, the shower and toilets haven't been cleaned and look like they've been abandoned or forgotten for some time.

It was a superb start to our vacation route down to Sardinia. This place near Verona was an open green field with trees, river water and a nice town nearby (short walk). The owners where super friendly, reachable and kind. Love to come back.

As always, it was very nice there. The toilets and showers could do with being updated, as they are a bit 'outdated'!

During the weekend there is loud music from the event location right next to the campsite. Toilets couldn't be used when we arrived and were semi-clean. Shower is cold and also very basic. Flimsy curtain, no door. The place as such is nice, it is only a short walk into town which is beautiful. We took the bikes to Peschiera del Garda along the river which was also really nice. Summary: The location is great for exploring the area. The campsite is very basic. If you don't mind, it's a nice place to stay.
