The 'Bosco della Fontana' State Nature Reserve is located in the municipality of Marmirolo, just 6 km from the city of Mantua. It represents one of the last remaining traces of the ancient lowland forest that once covered the entire Po Valley.
Mantua, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008, is steeped in art and history, boasting landmarks like the Ducal Palace, St. George's Castle, and Palazzo Te. The three lakes surrounding the city—Mezzo, Inferiore, and Superiore—offer a peaceful natural setting perfect for fishing for carp, tench, and perch. A magnificent cycle path connects Mantua to Lake Garda, winding through rural landscapes and charming villages—ideal for exploring the area by bike and soaking up breathtaking views. Furthermore, the Mincio Park is a true natural gem: a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers where you can spot numerous bird species and local wildlife.

Space, in the green, quiet yet on the edge of the city. Electricity when you need it. Rarely a car or train but not disturbing. Shower - WC very clean. Even get mosquito & fly spray! Massimiliano is a heartwarmingly good host.
We were given a very warm welcome by Massimiliano. Everything was perfect. The campsite is nicely and quietly located, yet Mantova is quickly reachable by car.

The stay at Massiliano's was a real pleasure. Massiliano is extremely kind and friendly. He did everything he could to anticipate our every wish. The place is fantastic. The bathroom and toilet are spotless. It was truly an excellent choice.
Very idyllic spot with a historic photo backdrop. Massimiliano and his family are super hospitable and very attentive. The railway line 30 meters away has very little traffic and is barely audible. We will definitely come back whenever we are in the area and stay a few days to enjoy the peace and quiet!
This place is a dream for anyone who loves beauty, nature, and hospitality! The pitches are perfect for relaxing, and the toilet and shower were sparkling clean and new. Massimiliano gave us a welcome gift upon arrival and another when we left, and even prepared the grill for us in the evening. We have never felt so comfortable at a campsite! Thank you for sharing this oasis of peace with travelers, dear Massimiliano! We were only there for one day passing through, but we will definitely be back when we get the chance!
