Camping in the Black Forest Highlands

Absolute Alleinlage im Hübschental

Germany-78148 Gütenbach
Our camp is nestled approximately 200m from our main house, at an elevation of 970m above sea level, truly in the heart of the forest. The property boasts two charming small ponds, and the Hübschentalbach stream flows directly past the site. You'll find an electricity connection in the wooden cabin. Unfortunately, the cabin burned down in August 2023. Since then, we've been diligently rebuilding it piece by piece. The interior finishing is still pending. ATTENTION: During the winter months, p…

The absolute secluded location in Hübschental lived up to everything it promised. Aside from a few cows and maybe three slow cars a day, you'll find a great little gem on a beautiful piece of land at the end of the valley. Thanks to the small hut, you have the chance to stay dry during the occasional shower if, like us, you can't park directly by the pond due to the size of your vehicle. But even the spot directly adjacent to the plot is wonderfully situated, right on the edge of the forest and by the stream. Otherwise, everything you need is there: a fire pit with grill grates, seating, a parasol, electricity (we needed about 40m of cable from the hut to the car)... Thanks to Jochen for the nice chats, the totally uncomplicated contact, and the supply of firewood.
Great spot. Friendly contact, everything was straightforward. Woke up to the sound of the bubbling brook and birds chirping, what more could you want.
I had a great stay at Jochen's. He is an incredibly friendly and warm host. Despite sub-zero temperatures and snow, he took excellent care of my well-being – he personally guided me to the pitch and even prepared firewood upon request. The spot itself is a dream: you can drive your bus directly in and have a fantastic view of two idyllic ponds. The surroundings are wonderfully quiet, perfect for unwinding and finding peace. On-site, there's everything you need: tools for chopping wood, great BBQ facilities, and a beautifully quiet forest all around. An all-around perfect pitch – absolutely recommendable!
Very nice and helpful host who made our stay pleasant on a very stormy and unsettled weather weekend! We felt very comfortable at your artistically designed pond spot with great lighting! Thanks again for the extra delivery of dry wood.
First off: Jochen's recommendation not to arrive too late so you can see the spot in daylight makes sense! ;) Because the arrival is - in a positive way! - adventurous: The last 1000 meters are first straight on a gravel forest path, then around a bend and quite steeply downhill. (It's manageable even with a 7.1-meter mobile home like ours.) Whoever arrives at the bottom will find themselves not only in the middle of the (Black) Forest but also at a real gem: Two ponds fed by water from the mountain, wooden jetties, large-format art, a fire pit, seating with a parasol, beautiful illuminations via LED lights powered by solar energy when darkness sets in. No lie: This place is a dream! Here you can truly unwind - and that's not just because, apart from the extremely nice and helpful host who lives 'hidden' 200 meters away, there's not a soul around (though there are four bovine souls that sometimes graze leisurely near the fire pit), but also because usually neither satellite nor LTE reception works at the spot. (To get a stable mobile connection, you have to go up the mountain to the clearing - a good daily exercise!) Electricity is available from the garden shed by the ponds - if you have a longer vehicle and therefore have to park opposite the wooden jetties and want shore power, you'll need a long cable connection (min. 40m). The experience of this enchanted place is worth every penny. Be careful in case of storms/heavy rain: The path to/from the spot could then become problematic without all-wheel drive. (We experienced two thunderstorms at the spot, which were wonderfully cozy and did not affect access.) Thanks to Jochen for sharing this great jewel!
A truly beautiful spot. Jochen is a super host. We'd love to come back!
Jochen was absolutely great! We had such a beautiful pitch and could enjoy it to the fullest!! Thanks for these wonderful few days!
