We were warmly welcomed and shown around. The animal sanctuary is a wonderful facility that deserves support, and we truly appreciate the hosts' commitment. Unfortunately, we didn't feel quite comfortable during our stay. The building is a bit dated and could use some refreshing in several areas. The power went out multiple times during our visit, some light switch covers were damaged, and the shower is located inside an office. Overall, the accommodation did not strike us as particularly clean. What bothered us most, however, was a pit bull barking loudly for a long period during the night. As a result, we slept very poorly. We informed the host, who was not on-site during our stay, about this. She apologized to us afterwards, which we very much appreciated. Nevertheless, this was one of the reasons why we continued our journey after two nights instead of the planned three. We wish the sanctuary and the hosts all the best for the future.
Large open meadow with plenty of space under the starry sky. Friendly, uncomplicated welcome despite our late arrival.
I was warmly welcomed by Wendy, as well as all the other people and animals there. The stay was unique. A big thank you to Wendy and everyone else for the wonderful encounters! I'd love to come back! <3
A friendly welcome from the hosts, Wendy and Samuel. Unfortunately, we didn't have much contact as we were out and about during the day: Grande Dixence, the underground lake in St. Leonard, the town of Saillon, Tourbillon Castle in Sion, etc. A beautiful, green, and quiet pitch with a view of the grazing, well-tended animals. Many thanks for the hospitality.
We stayed on the meadow for 1 night with our camper. It was beautiful with the animals right next door. Wendy was totally nice and easy-going. By chance, a volunteer spoke German, so he gave us a tour of the farm. Since we didn't speak French and only a little English, it worked out perfectly for communication. It was truly a great experience to spend the night at a sanctuary. You can really see that the animals are very well cared for by Wendy. The toilet and shower are very basic and functional, but absolutely sufficient. We would love to come back again.
The experience with the animals on the farm was great and the visit with Wendy was very interesting. Everything was very straightforward, a lovely experience.
The perfect haven for animal lovers! We had a lovely night at Wendy’s. It’s so heartwarming to see the animals grazing freely, and you can see how much the staff/volunteers care for them
