This holiday home was renovated and completely refurnished in 2022. In total, "Hibou" can accommodate up to 5 guests.

The kitchen, living room, bathroom, and two bedrooms are located on the ground floor. From the living room, a staircase leads up to the mezzanine, where you'll find a third bedroom. These rooms are equipped with:

 * Kitchen with dining table, modernly equipped with an induction hob, convection oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee maker, toaster, and blender
 * Living room with sofa and armchairs. During the chilly winter months, you can enjoy the cozy wood-burning stove.
 * Bathroom with shower, toilet, and washbasin
 * Bedroom 1 with a double bed (160x200)
 * Bedroom 2 with two single beds (90x200)
 * Bedroom 3 (mezzanine) with a single bed (90x200)

A good night's sleep is essential. That is why our mattresses and bed linens are of high quality. All our sheets and duvet covers are 100% cotton, and the pillows and duvets are synthetic, making them hypoallergenic.

Hibou is the third and last house you reach when following the country lane across the property. Tucked away among the trees, it features a panoramic terrace overlooking our own little valley and the swimming pool. Behind Hibou, there is also a small garden where you can enjoy views over the fields and grazing cows, which occasionally look on with curiosity. The many trees surrounding Hibou provide pleasant shade, coolness, and privacy.

A small path through the trees leads down to the swimming pool. The pool area is equipped with sun loungers, shaded spots, and parasols. The pool is shared: guests from the other gîtes and any campers from our mini-campsite use it as well. The pool is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM from mid-May through September.

 * A baby cot and/or high chair can be provided free of charge upon request.
 * The washing machine is shared and located in a communal room next to the campers' sanitary facilities.
 * Bed linen is always provided, adapted to the season. Bath towels are optional (€8/person).
 * Wi-Fi reaches the gîte, but is not suitable for streaming. The reception area offers the best Wi-Fi coverage, where you are welcome at any time of day.
 * Pets are allowed.
 * The gîte is heated (only) with a wood-burning stove.

Welcome to our holiday home, Le Hibou. It is situated on the charming small holiday estate Aux Martis, nestled in the stunning countryside of Lot-et-Garonne (on the border of the Dordogne). At the end of a gravel road and tucked away among mature oak trees, you will feel completely surrounded by nature. Yet, modern conveniences are always within easy reach, and the holiday home is fully equipped. From the terrace, you can enjoy magnificent views of the valley, and a short path leads to the swimming pool, perfect for a refreshing dip.

We are located in the southwest of France, on the border between Lot-et-Garonne and Dordogne. We are situated halfway between the major cities of Bordeaux (160 km) and Toulouse (150 km). Nearby towns include Villeneuve-sur-Lot (25 km), Bergerac (45 km), Agen (55 km), and Cahors (80 km).

Our region is known as the "Cœur de Bastide". Bastides are fortified medieval towns primarily found in southwestern France, and we are surrounded by some of the most famous among them: Monflanquin, Villeréal, and Monpazier. Naturally, there are other fairytale-like villages in the area well worth a visit, including Issigeac, Pays-de-Belvès, Pujols, Puy-l'Évêque, Sarlat-la-Canéda, and more.

In the immediate vicinity, you can explore several authentic villages, bastides, and castles. Every day of the week, you can visit a traditional weekly market in one of these villages. In July and August, a wide variety of events take place (such as medieval festivals, bodegas, flea markets, and antique fairs), as well as night markets where you can sample all the local delicacies to the sound of live music.

The region also boasts several impressive caves to explore. You can go canoeing and kayaking on the Lot and Dordogne rivers, with plenty of wonderful swimming spots along the way. Right around our property, you'll find hiking paths, mountain bike (VTT) trails, and cycling routes.

The vineyards of Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne are among the oldest in France. Together, they produce no fewer than 19 AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) wines, including the famous Monbazillac, Côtes de Bergerac, Côtes de Duras, Armagnac, and more. Château de Monbazillac and its vineyards are located about 40 kilometers from us, offering an entertaining and informative tour in and around the castle, followed by a wine tasting. Alongside the renowned estates, you will naturally find many small producers. At Domaine de la Tuque, just 10 kilometers away near the Château de Biron, delicious organic wines are produced.
