Schloss Weitersroda, dating back to 1478, is nestled on the southern slope of the Thuringian Forest. Between the castle itself and the quiet Schlossstraße, there's a sprawling 3000 sqm meadow, perfect for parking or pitching tents. Sheltered by hedges, trees, and our 500-year-old tower, you'll camp in a historical setting amidst beautiful nature. The castle courtyard, featuring a restroom block, fire pit, plenty of cozy seating, a platform, and the ancient castle linden tree, is freely available for your use. Our 'Temple Grove' is also yours to enjoy – a perfect spot to unwind, meditate, or simply dream under the leafy canopy. A true paradise for children! The village of Weitersroda has a population of just over 300 and, remarkably, its own butcher shop. Otherwise, apart from occasional village festivals, it's a tranquil place. All kinds of shopping facilities can be found in the district town of Hildburghausen, just 3 km away. *Free Wi-Fi *Electricity & Water Note: Late summer 2023 marks our testing phase.
