A rustic, discreet, and peaceful setting nestled in the greenery of a meadow, yet only 4.5 km from the historic centre of Parma, which is easily accessible by bicycle. The campsite is situated within an ancient estate that includes a historic villa and a botanical garden (which can be visited upon request). It is ideal for self-contained campervans and motorhomes equipped with their own toilet and shower. On-site, you will have access to drinking water, a covered picnic table, and a barbecue for cooking.
Nearby, you can enjoy pleasant short walks (5 or 8 km loops) in the surrounding countryside, go cycling along a quiet, traffic-free road (approx. 10–12 km), visit a local farm (where you can buy authentic Parmigiano Reggiano cheese), explore the city of Parma, or drive up to the first foothills just 12 km away. You can even venture further to the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine ridge, crisscrossed by the scenic '00' trail network, reaching altitudes of up to 1,900 metres above sea level (with views stretching all the way to the sea on clear days).

A quiet place with free-roaming chickens.
You're quickly in Parma. Friendly welcome from the owner. You have to be self-sufficient, apart from water there's nothing here.
A special place in the middle of historic buildings and with free-roaming, peaceful animals. Parma center reachable on foot in about 50 minutes. Gaetano and also the other people, especially the woman, were all very nice. She even lent us her grill and provided wood. Many heartfelt thanks for that!
We really liked the place. You're close to Parma (easily reachable by bike, also possible with a bike trailer), and yet it's quiet, safe, and private. Gaetano was really exceptionally friendly. A good stopover on the way south.
Our stay at Gaetano's was simply wonderful. The property is beautiful and located in a wonderfully quiet area. Despite the idyllic setting, the center of Parma is quickly accessible at about 4.5 km away. The hosts are exceptionally warm and make you feel welcome from the very first moment. A special highlight was the opportunity to visit the lovingly landscaped garden—absolutely worth seeing! We can wholeheartedly recommend Valera Camp and would love to come back.
The host was very friendly, and when it started to thunderstorm at night, he got up and told us where we could shelter our VW California to protect it from the storm. We felt very welcome. The neighbor gave us a concert with singing and guitar and even gifted us some fruits from his garden.
Beautiful little spot on Gaetano's estate. Quiet location, about 3 km from the center of Parma (bikes can be rented via Ridemovi). Water is available. Considering there is no solar shower or toilet, we found it a bit expensive. We stayed for one night and had our own solar shower with us – we really enjoyed the stay.

It was a wonderful pitch — like being in a dream world. Such an idyll, right at the gates of Parma. A host of truly exceptional kindness. Welcoming, discreet, very gallant, and likeable. A garden straight out of a novel. We enjoyed it all very much. Perfect, thank you!
