What is that?

Park Overnight (PON) offers simple, legal overnight spots in parking areas—ideal for spontaneous and safe travel. The spots are meant for one or more nights and are perfect when you need a quiet, official place to park, sleep and continue your journey.

The pitch is set within a protected Natura 2000 area, just 200 metres from the Maria Oberleis pilgrimage church and 500 metres below the Oberleis observation tower. While the tower itself is officially open only on weekends, the site can be visited at any time, and the platform offers a breathtaking panoramic view all the way to Vienna, where you can even spot the DC Tower and the Danube Tower. Just one kilometre away lies the village of Klement, home to the Gasthaus Hösch—a wonderful inn known for its great food (please make sure to check their opening hours). Public restrooms are available in the parish house, directly opposite the Maria Oberleis pilgrimage church.

Simple, basic, large, and paved, but very quiet parking lot. We were here over the weekend. On Saturday evening and Sunday morning, churchgoers arrive to attend mass. On Sunday, there are also a few hikers. Starting point for several nice cycling and hiking tours. The viewpoint at the Oberleiser Berg with its 6,000-year history of settlement is also recommended. Toilets are available opposite the church in the parish house, and there is hot water as well.

€16.00 for 2 people and 1 night is quite steep. Especially when you get absolutely NOTHING in return, except for a quiet spot. 'Gerhard' isn't to blame for the toilet at the church, as that belongs to the parish. You would expect that for this price, you could at least empty the chemical toilet and that a water tap would be available during the warmer months. If the municipality of Ernstbrunn feels they want or need to charge a parking fee, a different method of collection should be chosen. I still gave 2 stars because the place is very nice and quiet.
