The 50-kilometer-long mountain variant of the Rothaarsteig trail offers guests in Breitscheid a beautifully staged hiking dream on the "Path of the Senses," connecting the Hanseatic city of Brilon with the Orange City of Dillenburg. At the interactive Breitscheid Pottery Museum, tradition meets modernity. From utilitarian ceramics like egg cheese molds, jugs, bowls, and old water pipes spanning 260 years, to the terracotta army of the Chinese city of Xi'an, and modern 21st-century ceramics in aerospace and medical technology, visitors experience the versatility of clay. Every year on May 1st, a large pottery market takes place here, and on Eternity Sunday in November, the doors open for the Advent exhibition.
