The 'Sternschnüppli' is located on our charming farm, Hirschenhof. It sleeps up to 6 guests and is equipped with a kitchen, electricity, and running water. Toilets and showers are located just a 1-minute walk from the accommodation. Situated on the Zugerberg (a popular tourist area) in Walchwil, the property features an outdoor seating area and offers the perfect space to simply unwind! Bed linen and towels are not included but can be booked in advance (please request when booking if needed, 15 CHF per set).
Arrival: The Sternschnüppli is perfectly located for hiking and biking. There is no public transport directly to the farm; the nearest mountain railway is the Zugerberg Bahn, and the closest train station is Walchwil. A shuttle service can be booked for an extra 15 CHF per trip. Important: Driving over the Zugerberg is not permitted on public holidays or Sundays.
Check-in: Possible until 8:00 PM.
Hirschenhof: Our farm is home to many animals, including sheep, fallow deer, chickens, and pigs. We have an outdoor play area, a small rowing boat on the pond, a trampoline, and more. The 'Hirschenbeizli' (farm tavern) is always open for self-service drinks; this is also where the toilets and showers are located (1-minute walk away).
Fire: You are welcome to make a fire under your own supervision (a crate of firewood is available for 15 CHF).

We had a lovely stay at the Hirschenhof! Easy communication, beautiful surroundings, and lots to discover on the farm and in the area :) We thank the whole family and highly recommend it!
Beautiful caravan, well equipped and comfortable. The surroundings are also great for hikes :)
It was very cozy in the 'Sternschnüppli', even though it was over 30 degrees outside and the caravan couldn't really be cooled down. The children didn't mind at all. There were plenty of things to do outside and you were free to move around as you pleased.
We had a very lovely and pleasant stay at Sternschnüppli and were greeted very warmly. We would love to come back!
Super hosts. Wonderful place. It was great.
Highlights:
- Barbecuing and eating during a beautiful sunset with deer nearby
- Friendly animals and being able to help out
- Lovingly designed details around the farm (e.g. reading nook/library, toilets, etc.)
- Rowing on the pond

It was wonderful! There was plenty of space for the five of us, and the view and surrounding area are beautiful. You can swim in the cool pond (with fish😉), and the kids loved the trampoline. Everything was tip-top and very hospitable🙏
